PE

Welcome to PE!

My name is Karen Diaz and I’m so excited to teach physical education at St. Luke. This is my second year teaching at St. Luke.  I have taught in the Seattle Archdiocese for the past 5 years in Art Education and have coached multiple CYO sports. This is my 9th year teaching from high school Art and coaching multiple sports in Utah to pre-school students in Seattle. I had the amazing opportunity to be a part of the University of Washington fast pitch softball team in its 1993 inaugural year, which strengthened my sense of how important a positive team atmosphere creates team unity. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how important it is to reach every child’s potential through our International Baccalaureate learner profile at St. Luke. My goal for your children is to instill the importance of an active and healthy life through games, teamwork, and a Dance unit.  This year we will have sacks that hold the shoes specifically for the gym floors. If possible, shoes that are easy for the students to put on quickly will help utilize our full PE class period. Your child’s grades will be based on positive participation and listening skills. This is going to be an exciting year!
