How families live around the world is based on their environment

Yesterday and today your child began investigating into the world through map skills instruction and reading/viewing about families and how they live based on their environment.

We are just beginning with South America and have learned about how families live in Argentina and Brazil. Students found these countries on their map, colored them, labeled them, and then either drew images of what they learned (on how families live) or glued an image (from a bag of images cut for each student)(thank you Helen Murphy for cutting these!) that represented what we learned about that country.
For the next few weeks, your child will learn about how families live around the world and will add to their world map as we go. We will choose a few countries from each continent to study in more detail.
I attached a picture of one student’s work on S America as well as a picture of the teacher model so you can see where we are going. More to come!
Practicing the continents at home will be a fun activity since we sang our continent song many times today. Happy weekend!
